Privacy Policy

What FaceRatio Lab collects and what it never does: the face scan runs on your device, try-on selfies are not stored, and you can delete your data.

Introduction

We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our service.

Information We Collect

We collect the following types of information to provide and improve our service:

  1. Account Information — Your name, email address, and other details you provide when creating an account.
  2. Usage Data — Information about how you interact with the service, including features accessed, frequency of use, and interaction patterns.
  3. Device Information — Device type, operating system, and browser type, used to optimize compatibility and performance.
  4. Cookies — Small data files stored on your device to remember preferences and improve your experience.
  5. Payment Information — Billing details handled by trusted third-party payment processors. We do not store full card numbers on our servers.

How We Use Your Information

We use the data we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the service.
  • Process transactions and send related confirmations.
  • Send technical notices, security alerts, and support messages.
  • Respond to your questions, feedback, and support requests.
  • Detect, prevent, and address fraud and abuse.

Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data only in these limited cases:

  • With service providers who help us operate the service, under confidentiality agreements.
  • To comply with legal obligations or respond to lawful requests from public authorities.
  • To protect our rights, property, or safety, or that of our users.

Optional Public-Page Analytics

With your permission, we use Microsoft Clarity to understand clicks, scrolling and page performance on our public information pages. This option is for visitors aged 18 or older. Clarity receives masked page layouts and interaction data, together with technical connection information such as your browser and IP address. We do not send account identifiers, photos, face measurements, scan results or reports to Clarity. All page content and scanner contents are masked, and recording stops before you open the photo picker or camera. Account, payment, scan, result, report, color quiz and hairstyle try-on pages are excluded, as are URLs containing query parameters or fragments.

Clarity is off until you choose to allow it. We use it without analytics cookies and respect Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track signals. Your choice is saved locally in your browser. You can change it using Analytics preferences on a public page. Declining analytics does not affect the face scan. For Microsoft's handling of analytics data, see the Microsoft Privacy Statement.

Hairstyle Try-On

The face scan runs in your browser and never uploads your photo. The AI hairstyle try-on is separate and optional, and is meant only for a selfie of yourself, taken with your camera; using it on photos of other people is not allowed. With each try-on you choose to send that selfie to our image provider, fal.ai, whose image model draws the preview. We keep a record of your consent to this (the date and the version of the wording you agreed to) until you withdraw it on the try-on page. We ask the provider not to store the request, and we do not save your selfie. The finished preview is kept in private storage for 30 days, visible only to you, and then deleted automatically; you can delete one preview or all of them at any time. Previews carry an "AI-generated" label. We never use your selfies or previews in marketing or to train models.

Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encryption in transit, access controls, and regular reviews. No method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure, but we work continuously to protect your information.

Your Rights

You have the right to access, update, export, or delete your personal information. To delete it yourself, open Settings → Profile → Delete all my data: this removes your reports and their measurements, your hairstyle try-on images and your try-on consent. Payment records stay, as accounting rules require, with the order number, product, amount, date and the payment provider's reference; the email address and payment details stored with them are removed. Our payment provider, Stripe, keeps its own records of the payment under its privacy policy. For anything else, contact us at the email address below.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by updating the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, sending a notice through the service.
